Can Klaus, Elijah, and Rebekah break their troubled cycle in The Originals episode 16? According to executive producers Julie Plec and Michael Narducci, viewers better brace for an evening chock-full of ugly accusations and intense showdowns. The Mikaelson clan is trapped in the City of the Dead cemetery. Klaus is all too eager to drive a white oak stake through in his traitorous sister’s heart. Elijah rises to the occasion in an attempt to protect Bex and prevent his brother from committing a heinous crime. All in all, we’re in for one hell of a scary time!
“We kind of like to think of this episode as the Trial of Rebekah Mikaelson [by the lunatic Klaus],” Julie reveals. “Or the worst session of family therapy ever.”
Michael promises that viewers will gain more insight into the Mikaelsons’ long, cyclic history of quarrels and reconciliation. “There is a cycle of the relationship: Klaus does something awful, his siblings are angry, and ultimately he tries to persuade them to forgive [him], and he does.” He adds that this is the episode of the siblings going at each other and arguing — and possibly reaching a point where they realize something has to change or they will never be able to repair their broken bonds of love and loyalty.
